The ProClad Approach to Cladding Spray Painting

 Signs Your Cladding Needs Recoating

If you can see any of the following on your building, your cladding is telling you it needs attention. The earlier you act, the lower the cost.

  1. Fading or Chalking Colour
The surface looks dull, washed out or has a chalky residue when touched. This means the UV-resistant layer in the original coating has broken down and the cladding is no longer fully protected.
  2. Rust Staining or Surface Corrosion
Rust streaks running down panels, or orange discolouration around fixings and cut edges, indicate that moisture is reaching the bare metal underneath. This will worsen without treatment.
  3. Peeling or Flaking Coating
If the existing coating is lifting or flaking away from the panel surface, the bond has failed. Water is getting in behind the coating and accelerating deterioration.
  4. Visible Cut Edge Corrosion
Rust forming along the raw cut edges of roof or wall sheets is one of the most common signs of cladding breakdown. It spreads inward over time and can lead to structural damage if left untreated.
  5. Uneven or Patchy Appearance
Panels that look mismatched, stained or visually inconsistent indicate uneven wear and failing surface protection across the elevation.

Cladding Types We Work With

We spray a wide range of cladding types across commercial and industrial buildings. Each material is assessed during our free site survey to ensure the correct preparation method and coating system is specified.

Steel and Profiled Metal Cladding

The most common cladding type on UK warehouses, factories and industrial units. We apply corrosion-inhibiting primers and durable polyurethane or polyester topcoats to restore full protection and colour.

Aluminium Cladding

Lightweight and widely used on commercial premises and office buildings. Our specialist coatings bond to aluminium substrates and deliver a clean, factory-fresh finish that holds up against the elements.

Plastisol-Coated Cladding

Common on buildings from the 1980s and 1990s, plastisol coatings degrade over time and are not easily sourced for repair. We recoat over prepared plastisol panels to restore protection and refresh appearance.

Composite and Kingspan Panels

Sandwich panels and composite systems used on modern commercial and industrial buildings. We use flexible coatings suited to the range of composite panel types.

UPVC Cladding

We recoat UPVC panels using specialist adhesion primers and topcoats formulated for plastic substrates, delivering a smooth, professional finish without panel removal.

OUR PROCESS

From First Contact to Finished Project

Step 1 — Free Site Survey

Contact us and we will arrange a free, no-obligation site survey at a time that suits you. Our specialist visits your site, assesses the condition of your building and identifies exactly what needs to be done.

Step 2 — Surface Preparation

Panels are cleaned thoroughly using high-pressure washing systems to remove dirt, algae, chalking coatings and any other surface contamination. All corrosion at cut edges, fixings and panel overlaps is treated before any coating is applied.

Step 3 — Priming

A corrosion-inhibiting primer is applied across all panels to reinstate the anti-corrosion protection that the original factory finish has lost. This is the foundation of a long-lasting coating system.

Step 4 — Spray Application

We apply the specified topcoat system using professional airless spray equipment. Spray application delivers an even, consistent finish across large surface areas that brush and roller methods simply cannot match. Overspray is fully contained during application.

Step 5 — Inspection and Documentation

On completion, we carry out a full site inspection and issue your guarantee certificate, completion documentation and schedule of works.

Cladding Spray Painting vs Full Replacement

Most commercial property owners and facilities managers who contact us have been quoted for full cladding replacement. In the majority of cases, a professional spray painting programme delivers the same outcome at a fraction of the cost and with far less disruption.

RESTORING BUILDINGS. PROTECTING ASSETS.

Every Industry. Every Building. One Commitment to Lasting Protection.

Commercial buildings across every sector face the same challenge. Years of weather exposure take their toll on roofs, cladding, gutters and external surfaces. We work with businesses across the following sectors to stop that deterioration before it becomes a costly structural problem.

 What Makes ProClad Coatings Different

There is no shortage of painting contractors in the UK. The difference is that we specialise exclusively in commercial and industrial buildings. That focus means better results, better products and site teams who understand the demands of working on occupied commercial properties.

Specialist Commercial Focus

We work exclusively on commercial, industrial and agricultural buildings. No domestic work. Every job we take on is a commercial cladding or coating project.

Correct Specification, Not a Quick Overpaint

We specify the right coating system for your substrate and environment. A coastal building needs a different specification to an inland industrial unit. We get this right at survey, not after the fact.

Professional-Grade Coating Systems

We use high-performance coatings from proven manufacturers, not trade-counter products. The difference in longevity is significant.

Colour Matching to Any RAL or BS Reference

We can match any RAL, BS or manufacturer-specific colour. If you want to retain your existing colour or change it entirely, we accommodate both.

Minimal Disruption to Your Operations

Cladding spray painting is external work. In the vast majority of projects, your internal operations continue without interruption throughout.

10-Year Workmanship Guarantee

Every project is backed by a comprehensive guarantee on materials and application. You receive full documentation on completion.

Nationwide Coverage

We operate across England, Scotland and Wales. If your building needs cladding spray painting, we can reach it.

Full Documentation Provided

Schedules of works, condition reports and completion certificates issued on every project.

Cladding Spray Painting — Frequently Asked Questions

If you manage a commercial property and are considering coating or refurbishment work, these are the questions we get asked most often. If your question is not here, call us or submit an enquiry and we will get back to you within one working day.

Will the work disrupt our business operations?

No. Cladding spray painting is external work and does not affect internal operations. Overspray is fully contained during application. Entrance areas, car parks and surrounding surfaces are masked and protected. We can also work outside standard hours where needed.

Can you match our existing cladding colour?

Yes. We colour match to any RAL, BS or manufacturer-specific colour reference. If you want to retain your existing colour or switch to something new, we can accommodate both. Colour is confirmed before any work starts.

Do the panels need to be removed during the process?

Significantly cheaper. Cladding spraying costs around £25 to £35 per square metre for a professional spray job, depending on size and complexity. Full cladding replacement, on the other hand, can cost £80 to £120 per square metre and involves weeks of disruption, waste disposal and new materials. For most commercial buildings, spraying is the smarter option by a considerable marginNo. All work is completed on site with panels in place. There is no need to remove, dispose of or replace any cladding. This is one of the primary advantages of spray painting over replacement.

What types of cladding can you spray paint?

We can spray paint virtually all types of cladding including plastisol, steel, aluminium, UPVC and composite cladding systems. If you are unsure whether your cladding is suitable, our free site survey will confirm this before any work is agreed or quoted.

How much does cladding spray painting cost?

Cost depends on the size of the building, the condition of the panels and the access requirements. As a guide, cladding spraying typically costs £25 to £35 per square metre. Full cladding replacement costs £80 to £120 per square metre. We provide a fixed-price quotation after the site survey. No hidden charges.

How long does the project take?

Most cladding spray jobs are completed within one to three days for smaller buildings. Larger sites or those requiring more preparation work will take longer. You receive a full programme of works before we start so you know exactly what to expect.

Can you match our existing colour or brand colours?

Yes. You can select from a wide range of RAL colours, and custom colours are also available, making it easy to match your building's design or brand identity. If you have a specific brand colour requirement, share the RAL reference or colour code with us and we will match it exactly.

Can you treat cut edge corrosion at the same time?

Yes. In most cases we identify and treat cut edge corrosion as part of the same programme of works. If the corrosion is significant, we may recommend a dedicated cut edge corrosion treatment before the cladding respray is carried out.
